Spirit and Truth pt.II (What it Means)

The Spirit and Truth mentioned in John 4 where Jesus speaks to the Samaritan Woman at the well truly defines worship and sanctity IN CHRIST.

The lifestyle outworkings and conscious oreints of anybody's heart are what will clearly define whom they worship.

There are quite a few chapters that define the elements of True Worship, but for now we will look at Isaiah 58.

Isaiah 58 is a very interesting chapter especially for the sakes of where it is found being in the Old Testament

Isaiah 58 is entitled "True Fasting/Sabbath Keeping/Tithing/Offering/Prayer".

It speaks of God wanting the righteous OUTWORKING OF ONES FAITH in DEEDS OF COMPASSION apart from religious habbitualism of making oneself appear distraught and dirty just because they want to be seen by others as though they are fasting to God.

God declares by Isaiah that THE FAST HE HAS CHOSEN IS TO SHARE YOUR BREAD WITH THE HUNGRY, that you COVER YOUR NEIGHBOURS NAKEDNESS AND BE NOT ASHAMED OF YOUR OWN,that you TAKE AWAY YOUR FOOT FROM DOING YOUR OWN(selfish) DESIRE and TO MAKE EAACH AND EVERY DAY A VESSEL FOR THE LORDS WORK.

The striking obvious truth about Isaaiah 58 is that these characteristics of holiness are EXACTLY the same that Jesus himself spoke of in Mathew 25 where he ended his parables with telling people the difference between a sheep and a goat, making the sheep on his right hand those who inherit the kingdom of the Father.

The sheep have 5 distinct characteristics:

1- Freely Feeding the Hungry
2- Freely Giving Drink to the thirsty
3- Freely Clothing the naked
4- Freely Housing the Homeless
5- Visitation of the Sick and Imprisoned In Any way

This shows that even throughout the Old Testament, these are the things that God so desperately tried his best to get people to perform until His Son came to live amongst them and live the exact same way as the father expects.

This also falls directly in line with Jesus teaching the disciples that it is more blessed to give than to receive, and this was said because in all around truth, when everyone is giving, everyone is receiving and NO ONE is left out as will also be evident the overflowing abundance of things beyond the necessity of peoples every day lives.

This is what SPIRIT AND TRUTH mean with its many abounding fruits.
